ABOUT THE POSITION

We are currently seeking a dynamic Clinical Services Assistant I to join our team at our office in Topeka, KS. Clinical Support Assistant performs clerical and phone support functions for the clinical operations unit, managers, and supervisors. Utilize company's IT system (Care Connect) to provide support to the clinical unit with a focus on member safety, follow-up and client satisfaction. Answer routine member inquiries; maintain and coordinate clinical operation schedules; participate in team or group work activities (clinical support); performs the above duties and responsibilities in a confidential environment requiring supervision with limited latitude for utilizing judgment and initiative.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Answer routine inquiries from Clinical Care Managers related to administrative functions. Manages/monitors queues in CareConnect providing timely assignment/distribution of cases routed to care managers for follow-up, adhering to established protocols.
  • Obtain incoming calls from the discharge line; accurately enter members discharge information from Utilization Management into CareConnect for Clinical Care Mangers to follow-up on discharge plan.
  • Perform clerical support functions in addition to provide support assistance to the Clinical Support Specialist and Clinical Care Managers, which may include typing letters, developing forms, distributing reports.
  • Assist Clinical Support Specialists; send inquiries to Eligibility Department for benefit verification from insured members requesting treatment whose information is not entered in CareConnect.
  • Prepare documents for Single Case Agreement (SCA) contracts and gather required paperwork from providers, adhering to turnaround standards; must have familiarity with CPT codes, obtain copy of licensures and necessary paperwork to process the SCA.
  • Coordinate with clients and vendors regarding; eligibility, benefits and demographics
  • Request Medical Records specific to Clinical Operation Initiatives such as Lab Utilization and Case Review.
  • Position Requirements:

    Education: GED/High School Diploma required plus 1 year of experience of professional

    work experience. Some college highly preferred

    Relevant Work Experience: Minimum one year full-time secretarial experience in a clinical operations setting. Strong customer service orientation, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and experience using management information systems. Proficient with CPT codes. Knowledge and experience related to behavioral health preferred.
