Pay Range
$98,240 to $152,272

The Environmental Services Manager plans, leads, organizes and manages the activities and operations of the City's Environmental Services Division, including laboratory services, water production, plant maintenance, and wastewater treatment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prioritize, supervise, train, and review the work of assigned employees and work groups. Coach/lead, motivate, engage, develop and evaluate assigned personnel. Model the City's Leadership Philosophy to promote a positive work culture.
- Oversee and manage the Environmental Services Division's portions of the Infrastructure Department business plan, including assigned projects and programmatic areas.
- Ensure that the water and wastewater treatment plant operations and required laboratory analysis comply with all state and federal regulations under the Clean Water Act and the Safe Drinking Water Act.
- Prepare and administer the Environmental Services annual operating budget, including oversight of all the individual section budgets; support the Engineering group in the development of the Capital Improvement plan for water and wastewater treatment.
- Represent assigned section areas to all internal and external stakeholders, including City Council, regulators and as the City representative on the board for the Kansas River Water Assurance District.
- Ensure all customer service requests are resolved; respond to public inquiries in a courteous manner, resolve complaints in an effective and timely manner.
Qualifications
Experience : 6-8 years of municipal services experience with water, wastewater treatment, and sewer systems is required, including 3-5 years administrative and management experience. 10 years of experience in a related engineering function, including 6 years in an engineering management role is preferred.
Education : Bachelor's degree in field related to utilities management (water, wastewater, sewer systems) or environmental services is required and Civil or Environmental Engineering Master's degree is preferred.
Licenses and Certificates: A valid Driver's License and good driving record is required. Professional Engineering license and a Class IV KDHE operators license for either drinking Water or Wastewater treatment are also required.
