Overview
The purpose of this position is to edit and maintain the GIS database using ArcGIS software while utilizing established procedures and best practices of data entry to assure quality control and data integrity. GIS map creation, GPS collection, and GIS analysis will also be performed.

Required Education, Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geography with an emphasis in GIS, or Geographic Information Science and Technology or a Bachelor's degree in a related technical field with a Certificate or emphasis in GIS and a minimum of two years of experience editing a mapping database using ArcGIS software.
- Must have good analytical, cartographic mapping, spatial analysis, and problem-solving skills with great attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret plan and profile drawings and regional cadastral specifications, including legal descriptions.
- Must have knowledge of the following technology systems: ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise and/or ArcGIS Online, AutoCAD and GPS data collection using high-precision "survey-grade" GPS equipment.
- Ability to work on multiple projects/tasks concurrently.
- Requires proficiency or ability to become proficient in the use of SAP, GIS, AutoCAD, SharePoint, Microsoft Windows operating systems , and/or Office 365.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all WaterOne personnel and customers and be teamwork oriented.
- Must maintain a cooperative attitude and exhibit diplomacy and judgment when working with WaterOne personnel , contractors, developers, and/or the public.
- Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Must be a good listener.
- Must pass post offer medical exam, including drug screen and background verification (may not apply to current WaterOne employees).
Preferred Education, Skills & Experience
- Working knowledge of SAP, AutoCAD, and SharePoint.
- One year of experience or more editing a mapping database using ArcGIS software.
- Utility GIS mapping experience , preferably in water or wastewater .
- Experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

The employee must be able to use office productivity equipment such as a personal computer, calculator, printer, and copy machine.

This job operates in both the field and a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate except when in the field on a jobsite.
